Who is this Starshadow and why has she changed her page?
Well, let's just say first, it's a vicious rumor that I've gafiated. Once a fan, always a fan.
And K/S is always going to be my first love. I learned to write in K/S. I won awards. I made friends. I made enemies. I made people indifferent. Wait, maybe they already WERE indifferent. Never mind.
Anyway, there are numbers of people I met along the way and a wondrous journey it still is.
But I'm obsessive/compulsive and I also have added new obsessions. And expanded old ones. I'm better at art (Yeah, the old K/S art is down but let's face it, some was pretty amateurish. Some wasn't, and will appear again. Keep tuned. I gotta sort.) Hence, my stuff up at redbubble. That particular obsession has been lifelong, but the "muscle" went unused for a while. I practiced and got some techniques going, and it's back.
I'm trying to write original novels, which I hope will be publishable, by mainstream sf (and I remember when sf was "You actually READ that stuff?" and far from "mainstream" but Star Wars brought it into mainstream.) I am now trying to write an original series of sf novels for adults set on a world I call Ceres, which orbits one of the stars in the "head" of Serpentis, or thereabouts. I have recently had to change direction due to a falling out with a former co-writer, whom I wish well for, but for personal reasons must part ways with. That parting, while somewhat inevitable due to volatile personalities--on both sides--was just a bit more of a spectacular meltdown than I'd foreseen. But life goes on. I think my novels will improve as I've come into my own vision of the world I'm writing, a world contributed to in a very small way by that former collaborator, but increasingly my own. In other words, the training wheels are off, and while I'm wobbly on the bicycle, I'm riding it for all it's worth.
I am on Facebook--currently under my nom de plume of "Celeste deSchatten" though I may change the nym, and now that I'm firmly ON Facebook, may at least edit the name as it shows. I don't know yet. Lots of decisions.
So a whole new direction. But the original K/S pages are still here, and I do not plan to take 'em down.Plus I am working on a little piece of fluff K/S story which will go into the Livejournal K/S calendear on December 24th. Good thing I gave myself plenty of time; my various and sundry stresses this year have made time very short indeed, but I'm nearly done with it and should have it finished this weekend--as I edit this page, it's Saturday the 12th (Friday the 13th falling on a Sunday this year, as Pogo would have said.) So by the end of Sunday. Fa sure.
Oh, and I'm in lust with Adrian Paul of Highlander fame. My wife--for yes, I still say "I'm a lesbian," though Adrian is All Male (hey, I just tell folks There Can Be Only One, and he's mine...so to speak) is faintly amused. Adrian is no danger to her, and even if he showed up on my doorstep (fat chance, not only am I old and ugly, but he's got a girlfriend and a baby on the way, blessed be they three) he'd have to share me. I'm big enough. Literally.
So. I'm still writing homoerotica, still writing sf, still having a blast. I've just expanded my focus. (Focus? What focus? I'm supposed to focus?)
There's a whole big universe here, and multiple ones available. Come and explore with me! I'll be blogging on a variety of personal things.
I'll be putting in some of my K/S stuff that wasn't published on-line, when the in-print releases it. Or pointing to where one can buy zines, if they're out (some stuff is Yet To Appear. Fanzine publishing has been slow--publishers, too, have Real Lives and the economy is interfering with some of them, is my guess, or other Real Life problems. But sooner or later, they'll be out.) I'll be updating my Links page when I get a Round Tuit. And I have a forum up for talking art, writing, or whatever. Please sign up and sign in and help me make a community.
I bet we'll have fun.
(Oh, and if you don't wanna sign in, but still want to leave a comment, the guest book is still there. But why wouldn't you wanna sign up? It's free and we'll have fun along the way!)
I have added, btw, a donation button. Just in case anyone feels flush enough to shoot a shekel or two (or a buck or two) my way, and I promise it'll go for the website. Or the cat's shoes. Whichever.
If you can't, don't feel obligated. The site is still free to join and still going to be fabulous. This is too much fun to stop!
